Back in the lead after the first special of the day, Ott Tänak (Ford) made a mistake in SS21 by hitting a tree with the front of his Fiesta after first contact with the rear of his car against an embankment, and lost more than 1'44" on Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), auteur du scratch dans ce secteur chronométré.
The Belgian driver takes the lead rally avec désormais 1’03″3 d’avance sur son équipier Hayden Paddon et semble parti pour une nouvelle victoire cette année. Ott Tänak reste pour l’instant troisième, mais est contraint de renoncer comme l’a indiqué M-Sport.
Sébastien Ogier (Ford) reste quatrième devant Dani Sordo (Hyundai). Teemu Suninen (Ford), Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroën), Mads Ostberg (Ford), Elfyn Evans (Ford) suivent au classement devant Juho Hänninen (Toyota), qui a profite du tout-droit d’Andreas Mikkelsen (Citroën) pour revenir dans le top 10.
