Portugal – SS5: trouble for Evans

Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) a signé le scratch provisoire dans l’ES5 du Rally of Portugal by completing the 18,78km from Gois in 12'13''2. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) was the closest with 6 tenths behind. Ott Tänak (Toyota) a suivi à plus de 2 secondes en devançant Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai). Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) was further back with almost 6 seconds behind while Kris Meeke failed by more than 7 seconds.

Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) encountered mechanical problems forcing him to stop for almost 4 minutes. The Welshman was able to repair, but he greatly disrupted the race of Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) caught in the dust. The Finn lost a minute. Citroën should ask for a fixed time.

 

 

Ott Tänak retains the lead of the Rally Portugal with almost 9 seconds ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala. Teemu Suninen took 3rd place almost 6 seconds ahead of Kris Meeke. Sébastien Ogier climbs to 5th place, 2 seconds ahead of Thierry Neuville. Gus Greensmith is in 7th place ahead of Esapekka Lappi and Elfyn Evans.
