Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) a remporté la super spéciale du Rally of Portugal by completing the 3,36km from Lousada. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) was the closest with 9 tenths behind. Ott Tänak (Toyota) et Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) ont suivi à un peu plus d’une seconde. Kris Meeke (Toyota) a terminé à un peu plus de 2 secondes en devançant Elfyn Evans (M-Sport), Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) et Gus Greensmith (M-Sport). Sébastien Loeb (Citroën) was the furthest behind with 6 seconds behind.
Ott Tänak concluded the first stage with a 17”3 lead over Jari-Matti Latvala. Kris Meeke remains on the provisional podium with 1''4 ahead of Thierry Neuville, still ahead of Sébastien Ogier with less than 2 seconds ahead. Teemu Suninen keeps 6th place with a little more than 6 seconds ahead of Gus Greensmith and Esapekka Lappi.
