The R5 field should continue to diversify with the preparation of the future Proton Iriz developed by Mellors Elliot Motorsport. The British firm had already developed the Satria which had notably evolved in IRC and in the S2000 category of the WRC.
The Proton Iriz R5 will have an Xtrac transmission, Reiger shock absorbers, Brembo brakes and a Cosworth electronic system. It will be unveiled in June at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Its approval is scheduled for January 1, 2018.
This announcement comes just after that of Holzer who developed the Corsa R5.
