Ott Tänak (Toyota) a été intouchable dans la première ES du jour au Rally de Sardaigne. En bouclant les 14,97km de Coiluna-Loelle en 9’18’’3 avec un mix de pneus mediums et durs, l’Estonien devance de plus de 6 secondes Dani Sordo (Hyundai) and Teemu Suninen (M-Sport). Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) a suivi à une douzaine de secondes devant Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) and Kris Meeke (Toyota).
Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) is 19 seconds behind, one second ahead of Esapekka Lappi (Citroën).
Dani Sordo retains the lead of the Rally of Sardinia with another 4 seconds ahead of Ott Tänak, hoping to resist the Estonian over time with his hard tyres. Teemu Suninen slips to 7rd place with more than 3 seconds behind the Estonian. Elfyn Evans took 6th place, 4 tenths ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen. Kris Meeke remains 2th ahead of Thierry Neuville and Esapekka Lappi.
