Sven Smeets, the team manager of Citroën Racing, reassured about the concerns that hovered over the DS3 WRC de Sébastien Ogier. The Frenchman feared a mechanical breakdown similar to that experienced by his teammate Sébastien Loeb after complaining of a lack of power in the last two stages.
“Sébastien Ogier’s DS3 doesn’t seem to have any problems”, comments Sven Smeets. “He will have to take over the leadership of rally, it will be difficult but he was the only one last year to be able to keep up with Sébastien Loeb's pace. We are still in the race for victory. We are obviously very disappointed for Sébastien Loeb, who gives up on his event. We were happy with the pace he showed at the start of the race since he was already in the lead. These latest results are very disappointing but he will still retain the lead in the Championship. »
