In the general classification, the wearer of number 33 has a relatively comfortable lead for the first time, with a margin of 15″3 over the reigning world champion.
This special allowed Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) to overtake his teammate Kalle Rovanperä. The rookie in fact gave up his third place by 1″8 against the six-time world champion.
The winner of Monte-Carlo, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), continues to scrape a few tenths off Esapekka Lappi (Ford) in the match for sixth place.
