Ott Tänak (Toyota) s’est adjugé un nouveau scratch dans la super spéciale de Karlstad longue de 1,9km en bouclant le parcours détrempé en 1’36’’0 avec 6 dixièmes d’avance sur Esapekka Lappi (Citroën). Le Finlandais a repris 1’’5 à Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) qui s’est classé derrière Sébastien Ogier (Citroen), Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) et Kris Meeke (Toyota). Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) a suivi à 2’’5 de la référence devant Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) et Marcus Grönholm (Toyota). Pontus Tidemand (M-Sport) et Sébastien Loeb (Citroën) failed by more than 3 seconds.
Ott Tänak now has a lead of more than 56 seconds over Andreas Mikkelsen who only retains second place for only 4 tenths ahead of Esapekka Lappi. Thierry Neuville follows the C3 WRC at 3”2 with more than 9 seconds ahead of Elfyn Evans. Kris Meeke maintains 6th position with 2”3 ahead of Sébastien Loeb. Pontus Tidemand occupies 8th place following the retirement of his teammate Teemu Suninen in the previous special.
