Amazing ES6 Rally from Turkey, with the arrival of rain on the course and significant gaps opened up by three drivers: Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), Esapekka Lappi et Sébastien Ogier (Citroen).
With crossed medium and hard tires, Neuville achieved the scratch in 27'59″9 and was ahead of Esapekka Lappi by 7″ and Sébastien Ogier by 10″, although they were wearing hard tires on terrain where the rain had modified the track from the middle of ES.
Le trio relègue la concurrence très loin puisque Teemu Suninen (M-Sport Ford) est le plus proche des trois leaders à 38″1 de Neuville. Dani Sordo, malgré une perte de puissance sur sa Hyundai i20, suit à 39″4.
Le clan Toyota a subi un lourd revers, puisque Jari-Matti Latvala, avec des gommes dures en souffrance, concède 53″7 quand Kris Meeke et Ott Tänak lose 1'10" and 1'18". The Briton finished the SS with a Yaris quite damaged at the rear (diffuser), when a puncture ruined the Tänak special.
Overall, Lappi is 14″9 ahead of Ogier, and 19″7 ahead of Neuville before the last special of the day. Suninen is the last driver in the same minute, at 44″9. Followed by Mikkelsen at 1'02", Meeke at 1'29", Tänak at 1'36", Sordo at 1'39" and Latvala at 1'45".
