Although shortened, the Rally of Mexico took place. But the event did not escape the Coronavirus pandemic. In fact, at the end of last week, the WRC admitted that one of the members of WRC Promoter had been contaminated.
« The person in question self-isolated in the team hotel immediately after the first manifestations of symptoms noted by the rally's chief doctor and medical staff from the city of León, announced the organizers of the World Rally Championship. Since the positive test was confirmed, the person has been treated by the Guanajuato State Public Health Service which will ensure their custody in Mexico.
The person only frequented the team hotel and the WRC TV compound, itself far from the main service park and the media center.
Staff from WRC TV, the FIA, manufacturers and other parties potentially in contact with the person have been informed of the positive test.
WRC Promoter has cooperated with relevant local authorities to facilitate their investigations, as directed by the Governor of Guanajuato, the City of León and the State Department of Health. »
