The German brand has confirmed what had become an open secret for several days: the program WRC of the Wolfsburg Motorsport division will end after the Rally from Australia on November 20.
Sébastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen therefore find themselves temporarily on foot. Volkswagen Motorsport will focus on customer competitions, particularly in TCR, and will launch development of a Polo R5 in 2017.
