Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) a pu reprendre un peu d’air dans la 18e spéciale du Wales Rally GB en devançant Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) de 1’’5, le Finlandais ayant calé dans une épingle. Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) a signé le scratch en bouclant les 11,26km de Gartheiniog en 6’43’’6 avec 2’’3 d’avance sur Craig Breen (Citroën) which precedes by 2 seconds Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and Esapekka Lappi (Toyota).
Sébastien Ogier has a 4”4 lead over Jari-Matti Latvala on the evening of the 2nd stage. Esapekka Lappi remains on the provisional podium with less than 2 seconds ahead of Craig Breen. Mads Ostberg (Citroën) remains 5th, but his compatriot Andreas Mikkelsen came back to less than 3 seconds while still ahead of his teammates Hayden Paddon and Thierry Neuville.
