Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) a signé le scratch dans le second passage de Gwydir en bouclant les 14,76km en 9’30’’4. Avec ses pneus mediums, le quintuple champion WRC a repris 3’’3 à Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) qui a préféré miser sur les tendres qui semblaient pourtant mieux adapter à la route. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) a suivi à plus de 5 secondes en reprenant plus de 2 secondes à son coéquipier Hayden Paddon, tandis que Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) s’est classé à 7 secondes de son coéquipier belge. Les Citroën ont été les moins rapides avec Craig Breen and Mads Ostberg more than 18 seconds behind the benchmark, the Norwegian having spun.
Sébastien Ogier regained the lead by 3s from Jari-Matti Latvala before the final stage of Wales Rally GB. Esapekka Lappi protects his 1rd place well ahead of Craig Breen who only has an 3”8 lead over Thierry Neuville. The championship leader gained two places ahead of teammates Andreas Mikkelsen and Hayden Paddon. Mads Ostberg, on the other hand, lost three places and is now almost 2 seconds behind the New Zealander.
