After Sébastien Ogier (Citroën), it was Kris Mekke who made a mistake with his Mini WRC to the tests of Rally from Finland. The Briton went slightly off the track and violently hit a stone on the shoulder. The car was repaired, but returned to Britain for a check-up, forcing Kris Meeke to cancel his entry to the Estonian Rally.

Kris Meeke does not seem concerned by this incident preventing him from training before the Rallye des 1000 Lacs which will take place at the end of July. “There is nothing to worry about, these things happen”, comments on the Mini driver on wrc.com. ?It?s regrettable that this accident happened on the first day of testing, but it won?t affect my performance on the rally at all. It was a good reminder for Finland. I prefer to learn this lesson in a test rather than in the first special. »
