Lewis Hamilton won the Spanish Grand Prix ahead of his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas. The Briton took the advantage over the poleman from the start and retained control of the race until the checkered flag despite the intervention in the last quarter of the safety car event following a collision between Lando Norris (McLaren) and Lance Stroll (Racing Point).
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) climbs onto the podium in front of the two Ferraris of Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc. Pierre Gasly (Red Bull) follows in 6th position ahead of Kevin Magnussen (Haas), Carlos Sainz (McLaren), Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) and Romain Grosjean (Haas) who scores his first points of the year.
Lewis Hamilton takes the opportunity to regain control of the world championship.

Victory for Lewis Hamilton, his third in a row in Spain, ahead of Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen.

There are three rounds left in Catalonia, and we are heading towards a fifth Mercedes double this year.
T62 – No change in the lead with Hamilton ahead of Bottas, Verstappen, Vettel and Leclerc.
T61 – Grosjean loses another position to Daniil Kvyat

T59 – Sainz this time finds the opening on Grosjean and moves up to 8th position. Grosjean must now face the Toro Rosso of Daniil Kvyat.

T58 – Sainz takes the opportunity to attack Grosjean a lap later at the end of the straight, and the Frenchman resists by still going off-course, but resuming the track by going around the keel provided for this purpose.
T57 – Grosjean tries to regain his position against Magnussen at the first braking but cannot complete his maneuver. The Frenchman even had to go off-course.
T56 – Carlos Sainz (McLaren) took the lead over Daniil Kvyat (Toro Rosso) for 10th place.
T55 – Already 4″ gap between Hamilton and Bottas. The Briton is untouchable today.
T55 – 1’18″492, new best lap in the race for Hamilton
The incident between Norris and Stroll will be investigated after the race.
T53 – Hamilton restarts the race perfectly in front of Bottas. But behind, Gasly tries to attack Leclerc. The Red Bull driver fails to complete his maneuver and finds himself under pressure from Magnussen, who passed Grosjean at the first corner, after slight contact between the two Haas, forcing the Frenchman to pass wide of the first corner.
The safety car will disappear at the end of the 52nd lap.
T52 – The race remains under safety car regime.
