We quickly understood that the Mercedes were in difficulty at the start of the race. I stayed behind Bottas for a few laps. Seb came back very strong and I had difficulty resisting him.

Max Verstappen (Red Bull) takes his second victory in F1 by winning the Malaysian GP at Sepang ahead of Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull). Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) moved up to fourth after starting last while Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) completed the top five.

Sergio Pérez (Force India) ranks sixth ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne (McLaren) and the Williams of Lance Stroll and Felipe Massa. Esteban Ocon (Force India) takes the last point. Romain Grosjean (Haas) finished 13th ahead of Pierre Gasly (Toro Rosso) who finished his first Grand Prix.

Incredible image of Vettel who is stopped on the track with a destroyed Ferrari, the rear end being completely torn off! It appears to be due to contact with Stroll.

Bottas completes the top five ahead of Pérez, Vandoorne, Stroll, Massa and Ocon. Alonso finished just outside the top ten. Grosjean ranks 13th ahead of Gasly.

T55 – Grosjean took advantage of his tires in better condition to take 13th place from Gasly. The Toro Rosso driver remains in contact with Haas.

T54 – Hülkenberg took 16th place from Wehrlein. Gasly is in 13th place ahead of Grosjean who attacks his compatriot. Ocon is in 10th place, 14s behind Massa.
