In the 2nd intermediate, Paddon is closest to Ogier with 1″4 behind. Mikkelsen follows at 2″7.
Mikkelsen is 2″1 behind Ogier at the 1st intermediate.
Ogier set off in the 32km from Myherin. The road is wet and visibility is reduced due to fog. The four-time world champion's opening position could be advantageous to him.

The Myherin special staged from 9:20 a.m. will be run in the opposite direction. The roads are fast and wide with hairpins with a narrower end of the stage. A Wales Rally GB classic. The crews will only have a regroup in the middle of the day.

The Wales Rally GB crews will cover 179km timed in this first stage which will begin at 9:20am (French time) with the 32km from Myherin. The day will include 4 courses contested twice.
All the drivers on Michelin shoes selected 5 soft tires, except Andreas Mikkelsen who took an extra wheel.
