As he passed the finish cell, Ole Christian Veiby lost contact with his rival Mads Ostberg in WRC 2. The Hyundai driver was 37″5 behind on this SS and was 57″ behind the Norwegian in the general classification.

Mads Ostberg is the fastest R5 man in the special but Éric Camilli and Nicolas Ciamin remain ahead in the general classification.

The tension does not subside in this Monte-Carlo 2020. When completing this second stage, Saturday January 25, Elfyn Evans (Toyota) leads the way with 4″9 ahead of Sébastien Ogier (Toyota). The Frenchman had a bad 12th special, losing almost 10″ to Thierry Neuville (Hyundai).

The Belgian also set the scratch time. Thrown back more than 16″ at the lunch break, the outgoing world vice-champion finished the day just 6″4 behind the Welsh leader!

The fight for fourth position is also getting thicker. Victim of a spin, Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) is pursued by Esapekka Lappi (Ford), who is only 14″1 behind. Behind, Kalle Rovanperä (Toyota) and Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota) seem to be holding on to their position.

In WRC 2, Ole Christian Veiby spun off at the start of the course. The Norwegian lost around ten seconds in the process even though he was only 19″ behind the leader Mads Ostberg!
