Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) took the scratch in SS17 of the Rally Germany, the 11,69km of Dhrontal which will serve as the Power Stage in the second pass. The Finn took 4 tenths from Dani Sordo (Hyundai), closely followed by Thierry Neuville (Hyundai).

Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) followed just over a second behind, ahead of the Toyotas of Ott Tänak and Kris Meeke. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) failed more than 4 seconds ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai). Esapekkka Lappi (Citroën) failed by around ten seconds.

Ott Tänak remains 27 seconds ahead of Kris Meeke who is 15 seconds ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala. Dani Sordo follows more than 16 seconds back with 21 seconds ahead of Thierry Neuville. Andreas Mikkelsen regained 6th position from Esapekka Lappi for a one second lead. Sébastien Ogier remains 8th ahead of Gus Greensmith (M-Sport) and Takamoto Katsuta (Toyota).

Tänak set the 5th time, 2″4 behind his teammate Latvala, taking back almost 2s from Meeke. The Estonian has a 27s lead at the top of the rankings.
