Rally of Catalonia 2019
Mads Ostberg (Citroën) remains at the head of WRC 2 Pro with a significant lead over Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda), the Norwegian having also seen his SS3 time adjusted after being slowed down by Gus Greensmith (Ford).
Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) once again signed the scratch in the justice of the peace of the day, the 38,85km of La Fatarella – Vilalba, the SS6 of the Catalonia Rally. The nine-time WRC champion was ahead of Kris Meeke (Toyota) by almost 9 seconds. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) followed more than 11 seconds behind. Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) finished almost 18 seconds just ahead of his teammate Ott Tänak.
Dani Sordo (Hyundai) lost a lot of time finishing more than 21 seconds behind the benchmark. The Spaniard beat Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) and the Fords of Teemu Suninen and Elfyn Evans.
Sébastien Loeb takes control of the Rally de Catalunya with a 1”7 lead over Thierry Neuville. Dani Sordo fell to 3rd place almost 6 seconds behind the Belgian while maintaining a little more than 5 seconds ahead of Kris Meeke. Ott Tänak slips to 5th place while Jari-Matti Latvala climbs to 6th place ahead of Elfyn Evans who maintains the advantage over Teem Suninen.
Katsuta is the slowest with 42 seconds behind.
Loeb takes the scratch with a 6 tenths lead over his teammate Sordo. The Alsatian is the new leader of the Rallye de Catalunya with a 1″7 lead over Neuville. " It's incredible. I pushed at the limit but the car was perfect for this ES. It will be very different on the asphalt and we don't know what it will be like. »
Sordo failed 12″8 behind Meeke and around ten seconds behind his teammate Neuville. The Spaniard slips back to 2nd place, 5”9 behind the Belgian. “It was difficult to ride in places. The time is not great. »
Suninen ranks 23s behind the benchmark and is ahead of his teammate Evans by 6s... But the Welshman was slowed down by engine problems. The Finn remains behind his teammate with almost 8 seconds behind.
Latvala finished 9 seconds behind his teammate Meeke and easily overtook Evans with a lead of almost 14 seconds. “I could have gone faster, but I lost time by attacking too much. »
Evans lost a lot of time on this course, half a minute behind Meeke. The M-Sport driver suffers from mechanical problems, with his engine making an unusual noise. “I don’t know what it is. »

Neuville improves Tänak’s time by 7”5 and relegates the Estonian to 20s in the general classification. “It was a good day. The car ran well. I had a little more trouble in this ES because I had fog on the windshield. »
Ogier finished more than 8s behind Tänak. The Citroën driver is still beyond the Top 20. “It’s obviously frustrating to see our efforts wiped out after a few km. There's no point in attacking anymore, we just refine the notes. »
Tänak sets a first time in 26'05″5, 25 seconds better than Loeb's scratch achieved in the morning.
Neuville now has a lead of more than 5 seconds over Tänak in the 4th split, while Meeke is a few tenths behind the Belgian at the previous intermediate.
Neuville continued his effort with a 5s lead over Tänak in the 3rd split while Ogier was 6s behind the Estonian. It is Meeke who remains the fastest for the moment with 3 seconds ahead of his teammate in the 2nd partial.
Neuville has a 2″5 lead over Tänak in the 2nd sector.
Ogier is now 7″5 behind Tänak in the 2nd intermediate position. Neuville and Meeke are faster, the Belgian ahead of the Estonian by a second in the first partial while the Northern Irishman has a lead of more than 2 seconds.
Ogier is 3s behind Tänak in the first partial.
Tänak sets off in the last ES of the day. Loeb was the fastest this morning in 26'30″9.
The crews are now heading to the La Fatarella – Vilalba special stage, 38,85km long. Tänak is expected to start at 17:16 p.m.
