Here is the classification of the special:
The appearance of the event has been transformed:
Although the start of the Estonian Rally was almost peaceful, several incidents marred the seventh special stage. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) will not go any further after a collision and a completely torn right rear axle:
Less penalizing, at least initially, a tire delaminated at high speed tore off a large piece of bodywork on Elfyn Evans' Toyota, which was nevertheless able to continue on its way. Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) and Craig Breen (Hyundai) also finished the special with a crazy tire, but the Frenchman still set the best time.
Ott Tänak increased his lead to 10″3 over his teammate Craig Breen while Sébastien Ogier dug a hole in 3rd place. Frenchman Pierre-Louis Loubet (Hyundai) remains 10th in the event while awaiting confirmation of Thierry Neuville's retirement.
Ott Tänak sets the 2nd time, 6 tenths behind Sébastien Ogier. He retains the lead of the rally by 10″3 over Craig Breen, who only set the 4th time.
The damage is significant on the right rear axle of Thierry Neuville:
Thierry Neuville lost more than a minute on this special.
The image makes Hyundai mechanics break out in a cold sweat. This is undoubtedly the end of the podium hopes for Thierry Neuville and Nicolas Gilsoul:
Thierry Neuville on three wheels!! Everything is coming together at the moment! Sébastien Ogier also flattened a tire at the end of the special!
Best provisional time for Sébastien Ogier with 2″6 ahead of Kalle Rovanperä.
The damage is significant for the Toyota Yaris:
Another puncture for Elfyn Evans! The left rear tire, like this morning for the Welshman! Occurring at high speed, the incident led to a complete tearing of the bodywork around the wheel. Elfyn Evans finished 4″2 down on Kalle Rovanperä.
Kalle Rovanperä finished with a 6″5 margin over Takamoto Katsuta. The gap grew to 9″5 in the general classification to the Finn’s advantage.
Katsuta: “The conditions have changed. I adapted the settings. »
Takamoto Katsuta digested his lunch well. He takes almost 5″ ahead of Esapekka Lappi in this SS7.
Esapekka Lappi resumes his leadership role at M-Sport Ford with a 4″ lead over Teemu Suninen at the finish.
Suninen: “There are big stones hidden on the road. »
Teemu Suninen sets a time 2 tenths ahead of Pierre-Louis Loubet.
Pierre-Louis Loubet finished with a shorter time of 1″7 over Gus Greensmith.
Gus Greensmith reports abnormal tire heating. To be monitored throughout the afternoon.
Note the common choice of tires for all competitors entered in the WRC, using medium Michelin compounds.
