Rally of Catalonia 2019
The crews are now preparing to compete in the 24,4km El Montmell special. Ogier is expected to start at 10:38 a.m.
Kris Meeke (Toyota) went off the road on SS8 of the Rally de Catalunya. The Northern Irishman in 3rd row tore a wheel off his Yaris WRC and hit a guard rail. The crew appears unharmed, but the day is over for them.
Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) scored a new scratch by completing the 21,26km of Querol in 10'52''4, 2''3 ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) and more than 4 seconds over Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai), Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) and Ott Tänak (Toyota). Dani Sordo (Hyundai) failed by more than 5 seconds by finishing between the Fords of Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninen.
Thierry Neuville now has a 7”5 lead over Sébastien Loeb. Dani Sordo regains 3rd place with the retirement of Kris Meeke. Ott Tänak and Jari-Matti Latvala complete the new Top 5 ahead of the Fords of Elfyn Evans and Teemu Suninen.
Loeb drops 4″3 to his teammate Neuville and finds himself 7″5 behind the race leader.
Neuville sets the new reference time with 2″3 ahead of Latvala and more than 5 seconds ahead of Sordo. The Spaniard finds himself almost 18s behind the Belgian in the general classification.
Sordo takes the 5th time, 3s behind Latvala. The Spaniard maintains a lead of more than 11 seconds over Tänak in the general classification.
The guardrail prevented Meeke from going into the ravine. Part of the edge is bent following the impact.
Tänak set the 3rd time, 2″4 behind Latvala. The Estonian is now the Hyundai's closest rival.

Meeke's Toyota has the right rear wheel torn off. The car has significant damage.
Things are going better for Latvala who improves the reference with 2″3 ahead of Ogier. The Finn will climb to 5th place.
Off the road for Meeke! The Toyota driver got out of his car and the crew appeared unhurt, but the Yaris WRC won't go any further today. He had just taken 3rd place ahead of Sordo.
Evans ranks 4 tenths behind Ogier, gaining even more than 4 seconds from his teammate Suninen. The Welshman is 7th.
Suninen fails almost 5s behind Ogier. The M-Sport driver is still in 8th place.
Ogier signs a first reference in 10'57″0. There is no press briefing at the end of this SS.
Katsuta stopped again on SS7. The day promises to be complicated for the Japanese.
Ogier is already in the next special, racing over the 21,26km of Querol.
