The first WRC-2 drivers completed the special. Jan Kopecky (Skoda Fabia R5) is provisionally fastest in 34'53"8 and is currently ahead of Elfyn Evans' Ford Fiesta R5 by 1"2. Teemu Suninen (Skoda Fabia R5) climbs into third position at 9″3.

Kris Meeke flew through the ninth special stage of the 2016 Tour de Corse, the longest timed stage of the rally. The Abu Dhabi Team WRT driver set a time of 33'11"6 and is well ahead of the rest of the peloton since Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) is closest to the Briton at 35"3. On a track made tricky by numerous patches of humidity, Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen) took third place at 39″ and ahead of Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) by 3″1.

The Belgian carried out a good operation since he still took almost six seconds from Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) in the fight for second place. Overall, Ogier, only sixth in the SS ahead of Mikkelsen, has a 43″ lead over Neuville before the Power Stage. Mikkelsen is now 8″27 behind the Belgian from Hyundai in third position.

Latvala, Breen (DS3), Paddon, Sordo (Hyundai), Camilli (Ford), Ostberg (Ford) and Tänak (Ford) still complete the top 10. Note the heavy time loss of Lorenzo Bertelli (Ford), who concedes more than six minutes after a puncture.
