This is the end of this second day of testing in Bahrain. Carlos Sainz therefore sets the best time of these two days of driving, while Verstappen (2nd) and Hamilton (4th)  slowly get underway. Yuki Tsunoda was the most present driver on track with 120 laps completed today.

Verstappen is getting closer. The Dutchman has significantly increased his pace in recent minutes and climbs to second place, still four tenths behind Carlos Sainz. The soft tires are starting to bloom on all the cars at the end of the session.

Lando Norris seemed able to improve his time significantly, after wearing soft tires. But the Briton returned to the pits without finishing his last time. Damage !

We begin the last half hour of driving of the day and Carlos Sainz is still in the lead. Serenely.

Hamilton answers him! Barely two minutes after Verstappen crossed the line, the Briton got behind him and in turn took the third time of the day in 1'34"141, on C4 tires (compared to C5 for Verstappen). Less than a tenth separates the two men now.

And here comes Max Verstappen! The reigning world champion, who has been riding since the start of the day, has just set the third time of the day (+ 0'700), well placed between Lance Stroll and Esteban Ocon. The Dutchman had just put on soft tires to set a “reference” time. It is now done.

Despite the still impressive effect of porpoising, Lewis Hamilton improves his mark (1'35"471), on soft tires! The Briton still remains in fifth place, a good distance from the leader of the session, Carlos Sainz (+ 1).

And back on track with Guanyu Zhou and Lewis Hamilton. The two drivers left the pits almost immediately!

The session resumed and so did Kevin Magnussen. The Dane quickly makes his mark and returns to the top 10 to the benefit of his new time, 1’36”505 on medium tires.

Ocon's car has been returned, the session will resume in 1 minute. 

First red flag of the afternoon, the opportunity to take stock of the timesheet, where the Ferraris monopolize the first places. Little progress in recent minutes due to the violent winds in Bahrain and the drop in temperatures on the track.

Yuki Tsunoda is the first driver to reach the symbolic bar of 100 laps today (103), like Pierre Gasly, also 103, the day before. An important piece of health data from the AT03, which stacks up the kilometers and data. Esteban Ocon (94), who is also riding throughout the day, should quickly get behind him.
