It's the end of the first day of testing. The Mercedes drivers remained the fastest, with Hamilton setting the best time with a lap of 1'16"976 more than 3 tenths ahead of his teammate Bottas. Verstappen (Red Bull) was the most diligent with 168 laps covered.
The cars continue to complete laps, but without notable improvements. There are 12 minutes left in the session.
With less than half an hour remaining in the session, Hamilton has already completed more laps than his teammate Bottas (80 against 79).
The sun is starting to set on the circuit, potentially hindering the visibility of the drivers. Hamilton (Mercedes) remains on track with Kvyat (Alpha Tauri), Ricciardo (Renault), Stroll (Racing Point), Latifi (Williams) and Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo).
Several cars returned to the track in this last hour of testing, including Hamilton's Mercedes, which remained at a strong pace.
The McLaren was active today. Sainz Jr completed nearly 140 laps at the wheel.

Verstappen (Red Bull) and Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) are currently the only ones on the track. With 57 laps on his clock, the Italian has around a hundred fewer than the Dutchman who stayed on duty all day.
If Sainz Jr (McLaren) is still in 6th place, he remains on a good pace, being close to his reference time.
There are now less than an hour of testing left. The positions have not changed and Hamilton remains at the top of the standings ahead of his teammate Bottas (Mercedes), Pérez (Racing Point) and Verstappen (Red Bull).
Slight exit from Hamilton (Mercedes) who missed his braking at the first corner. The Briton took advantage of the clearance to avoid damaging his tires.
Hamilton further improves the benchmark by 2 thousandths ahead of his Mercedes. The Briton is still running on C2 tires.
Kvyat (Alpha Tauri) and Latifi (Williams) now have the track to themselves. Verstappen (Red Bull) returned to the garage after completing a series of laps at a high pace close to his best time.
