The second phase of qualifying for the 2020 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix cost the chances of Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) and Esteban Ocon (Renault). The German only set the 14th time on soft tires while the Frenchman finished 12th, more than 3 tenths behind his teammate Daniel Ricciardo.
The Racing Point made too many errors to move into the top 10. Sergio Pérez touched the gravel while Lance Stroll went beyond the limits of the track. George Russell (Williams) did the best possible with his equipment and finished 13th fastest.
