Leclerc (Ferrari) follows in 3rd place ahead of Verstappen (Red Bull) and the McLarens of Norris and Sainz Jr. Vettel (Ferrari) is only 7th ahead of Ricciardo (Renault), Gasly (Red Bull) and Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo).

Pierre Gasly (Red Bull) saved his place in Q3 at the French GP by taking 10th place in the second qualifying session with 4 hundredths ahead of Alexander Albon (Toro Rosso). Kimi Räikkönen (Alfa Romeo) failed in 12th place ahead of Nico Hülkenberg (Renault), Sergio Pérez (Racing Point) and Kevin Magnussen (Haas).

Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) was the fastest, setting the new lap record in 1'29''437, 69 thousandths ahead of Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari). Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) followed 8 hundredths ahead of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari). Lando Norris (McLaren) is 5th ahead of Max Verstappen (Re Bull), Carlos Sainz Jr (McLaren), Daniel Ricciardo (Renault) and Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo).
