Monte-Carlo Rally 2022
The first time announced by Rovanperä was incorrect. He is ultimately credited with a 9'23″8. Here is the corrected ranking:
The scratch therefore goes to Rovanperä who was never pushed. Behind, Loeb grabs 4 tenths from Ogier and comes back to 5 seconds behind him overall before the last special on Saturday
Greensmith settles for 7th fastest time in 9'38″6, 14″8 behind Rovanperä
9'24 for Loeb who takes 4 tenths from Ogier and reduces the gap to 5 seconds before the last special of the day. Special victory seems promised to Rovanperä
Smooth recovery for Ogier who signs a 9'24″4 just over 6 seconds behind Rovanperä
Neuville finally reaches the finish line more than 3 minutes late. The Belgian was practically riding on 3 wheels and stopped his time in 13'04″1, 3'40″3 from the lead. He mentions in particular a problem with the front suspension which came loose at the start of the special.
Evans regains rhythm and signs a 9'28″5 to finish 4″7 behind Rovanperä
Neuville hit during this special. The Belgian is currently driving with a slightly open but mostly damaged hood. He even made a short stop during the course
Still with a damaged i20 and without a front bumper, Solberg finished 28 seconds behind Rovanperä with a time of 9'51″8
9'27″5 for Breen who finished 3″7 behind Rovanperä. The Irishman will seek to consolidate his 3rd place overall instead of attacking too much in order to avoid any mistakes. He even runs on used tires to save fresh ones for Sunday.
Here is the tire strategy for the afternoon with a slight difference in choice between Ogier and Loeb:
No improvement for Katusta who clocked 9'36″5, 18″3 behind Rovanperä
Rovanperä set the first benchmark of SS12 in 9'18"2, much faster than his 9'31"6 in the morning. “I feel better and better in the car”
Here is the route of SS12 already taken during SS10 this Saturday morning
Having made a mistake this Saturday morning, Tänak withdrew from the last two special stages of the day. The Estonian will return this Sunday!
