Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) signed a new scratch by completing the 1,8km of the Cholmondeley Castle super special in 1'07''5. Ott Tänak (M-Sport) only dropped eight tenths while his teammate Sébastien Ogier finished half a second behind the Estonian.
The special was marked by the accident of Juho Hänninen (Toyota) who retired after breaking his suspension by hitting a tree while in tenth place.
Elfyn Evans maintains a lead of more than 46 seconds over Thierry Neuville. Ott Tänak retains his third place with less than four seconds ahead of Sébastien Ogier. The Championship leader sees Andreas Mikkelsen come back to just over eight seconds.
Evans drops 1″6 to Neuville. The Wales Rally GB leader maintains a lead of more than 46s over the Hyundai driver.
Tänak is still ahead of Ogier by half a second but drops 8 tenths to Neuville. The Estonian now has a lead of almost 4 seconds over his teammate in the general classification.
Ogier sets the 7th provisional time, 1″3 behind Neuville. The Championship leader is fighting for 3rd place against his teammate Tänak and is also under threat from Mikkelsen who is 8″3 behind his Ford.
Hänninen's retirement is confirmed, the Toyota driver having broken a suspension after hitting a tree. The Finn must now count on Rally 2.
Neuville improves the mark with a time of 1'07"5, half a second better than his teammate Sordo. The Belgian is looking to consolidate his lead over M-Sport drivers Tänak and Ogier.
Latvala is closest to Sordo with half a second behind. The Toyota driver is still in 6th place, more than 8 seconds behind Mikkelsen after the Norwegian's penalty was canceled.
Mikkelsen and Meeke finished 7 tenths behind Sordo.
Hänninen's time was slow to arrive... The Toyota driver apparently hit a tree in the super special! The Finn was in 10th place ahead of his teammate Lappi.
Soredo takes the provisional scratch with a time of 1'08″0, 6 tenths better than Lappi and 7″7 better than Paddon. The Spaniard is 2″8 behind his teammate in the general classification.
Paddon loses a lot of time in this super special since he is more than 5 seconds behind Lappi. The New Zealander is in 8th place, a few seconds ahead of his teammate Sordo.
Mikkelsen has just regained his 5th place. His 10s penalty has been removed. The Hyundai driver now has a lead of around 9s over Latvala and is just over 8s behind 4th place occupied by Ogier.
