Despite losing his first two gears at Wales Rally GB, Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) was able to limit his delay in the two passages of the 1,63km Slate Mountain super special. The five-time WRC champion slipped to 8th place but remains less than 3 seconds behind Esapekka Lappi (Toyota).
Ott Tänak (Toyota) maintains a lead of 9 seconds over Elfyn Evans (M-Sport). Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) remains in 3rd place after signing the scratch in the second pass. Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) complete the Top 5, the Belgian running 3 tenths behind the Finn having been the fastest in the first pass. Craig Breen (Citroën) follows in 6th position. His teammate Mads Ostberg is in 9th place ahead of the Hyundais of Hayden Paddon and Andreas Mikkelsen.
Ostberg finished 3s behind Latvala. The Citroën driver plays between Ogier and Paddon.
