While Felipe Nasr was expected to stay at Sauber F1 Team in 2017 with the partnership between the stableHinwil and Banco do Brasil, the latter indicated that it would terminate the contract at the end of the 2016 season.
“Banco do Brasil had set the condition that the renewal of the partnership would be on the condition that other Brazilian companies join forces and this did not happen”, the bank said in its press release.
If the livery of the Swiss single-seaters should therefore evolve, the news especially has an impact for Felipe Nasr who finds himself in uncertainty for his future.
“Negotiations are still ongoing with the team, wanted to reassure the Brazilian. We are having discussions and Sauber remains our priority. I spent two magnificent seasons with the team: I was able to do great things in the first year while the second was more difficult with a car lacking in performance. It was still nice to take two points in Brazil and give motivation to the team. »
F1 risks no longer having a Brazilian driver in 2017 with the withdrawal of Felipe Massa. This would be a first in 15 seasons.
