During the 2024 season MotoGP Luca Marini will take his place on the factory RC213V that Marc Marquez has driven during the last eleven championships within the Repsol Honda team, and will become the 20th driver in history to wear the colors of the Repsol Honda Team as a starter. Engaged for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, the former VR46 driver has very clear expectations.

“Marc’s announcement was a real shock, explains Marini in an interview broadcast by Honda. My manager and I then tried to find a way to approach this new project of improving together, trying to build a better bike, to come back and win races and world titles. That’s our goal, and I’m sure there will be some very exciting times to come as well.

Honda is the best team in history, the numbers and statistics speak for themselvesHe says. So I think we have the capacity to return to the forefront very soon. We will find the right direction and we will stay at the top for many years. »

With these declarations, the Italian sets fairly precise objectives for the long term, but keeps in mind that 2024 will not be easy as the road is still long to achieve the desired performances.

“I want to start with an open mind, we need to understand where we really stand, and I also want to find a way to beat my direct opponents who are my teammates, warns Marini. This is my primary objective. Then I would like to look forward and try to find a way to get on the podium with this bike or get a victory. I know it may be difficult, but we must at all costs look to the future.

My first day with the team in Valencia was great. I now have a lot of time during the winter to talk with all the members of this team, it's just a dream to work with all these people and especially with the Japanese. I like this culture and we can have very good synergy together” concludes No. 10.
