Since the 2024 season of MotoGP, Pedro Acosta never ceases to surprise, when Jack Miller continues to disappoint. If the Australian displays a better pace than in the second part of last season, he still does not live up to the expectations of Pit Beirer, the director of KTM, who does not hide from expressing this.

" I am not satisfied, he assures in the columns of Trademarks. He has been very out of shape at times, but he trained a lot this winter and is in better physical condition. »

Displaying much better form than Miller since the start of the season, it is starting to become clear that Pedro Acosta will take the Australian's place in the factory team at the latest at the start of the 2025 season, with Brad Binder having already a contract which ensures his place with the Oranges.

However, if some saw the young rookie becoming a factory driver this year, Pit Beirer is not of that opinion.

“It is a very important value for us, for the future and for now, He explains. He is performing remarkably well, but for us it is not an option to change teams now.

From a contractual point of view, there would be no obstacle to this change, continues Beirer. But it is absurd to think of such a change in the middle of the season. »

Finally, the manager of the Austrian factory underlines the indispensable nature of a driver who displays such performances for the needs of the team.

“This is very useful for Brad, who until now was our only reference, because sometimes neither we nor he knew if a problem was with the bike or the rider” he concluded.
