The reigning double world champion fell in the first laps of Saturday's Sprint. Starting seventh again today as required by the regulations, he immediately managed to climb into the leading group. All at the cost of insane braking at the end of the straight preceding turn 6! A critical point, which Bagnaia had identified as the most important in order to be able to fight at the forefront.

Accompanied by the private Ducatis of Marc Márquez and Jorge Martin, the Italian offered us a nice show at the start of the race. Positioned behind Jorge Martin, he took control of the Grand Prix on the 11th lap. Martin actually fell, leaving Bagnaia a second ahead of Márquez. But the eight-time world champion managed to reduce the gap, and the two men then fought like rags to the finish. A fight that number 1, ultimately the winner, appreciated!

Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati n°1), winner of the Spanish Grand Prix: “The most important thing was the first lap, the overtake on the outside at turn 6 was really crucial. I then tried to attack to follow the guys in front of me, until Jorge made a mistake on the brakes. I really enjoyed the fight with Marc, every time you fight against him you have to be aggressive. I really loved this Grand Prix, seeing all the crowds around the circuit is incredible, and I want to thank everyone! »
