Second manufacturer to have the most units in 2023, KTM will have a new recruit in its ranks during its next campaign in MotoGP, Pedro Acosta making the jump from Moto2 to MotoGP in the Austrian house's satellite formation.

So much data which makes Marc Coma, director of the Spanish subsidiary of the factory, say that KTM is going in the right direction, the Iberian says he has great hopes in his young compatriot.

“We are working well, even if the chosen path is not the easiest. With our engine, our suspensions and the rest, it's a 100% KTM package. I think things are going very well, assures Coma. Yes, the bike has taken a very important step forward this year, and we hope to continue evolving in that direction. We also have Dani [Pedrosa] in reserve who makes everyone agree when he comes on the track.

The arrival of Acosta will be interesting, continues the Spaniard. I think, without denigrating anyone, that he has something special, something different. In terms of driving, in terms of everything. He will reach an important milestone in 2024, and we cannot ask him to win the championship in the first year, but he is certainly one of the future stars of MotoGP. »

Coma still remains cautious and knows that the road to success will not be easy, Ducati having eight competitive motorcycles, while KTM only fields four.

“It’s clear that the Ducatis don’t make things easy for us, because when one fails, the other is there. The championship would be much more attractive if it were a little more equal. I think this is the only ‘but’ that could be adapted to the current situation” concludes the multiple Dakar winner.
