Le MotoGP returns to Europe to compete in a long series of meetings, the first of which takes place in Jerez. The Spanish Grand Prix will see eleven of the twenty-two drivers entered perform at home, which promises to liven up the debates. At the end of Qualifying, Marc Marquez won the 93rd pole of his career ahead of Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martín.

Main race:

  • Marc Marquez takes off better this time, and keeps the lead at the first braking. Francesco Bagnaia also begins the race with a desire for revenge after his fall in the Sprint. The No. 1 surprises his competitors at the start, and after a few turns, he already attacks Marc Marquez and passes him.
  • The No. 93 tries to resist, but misses his maneuver, and takes Bagnaia wide, which benefits Jorge Martín who manages to pass him.
  • In order to stay in the 'clean air', the top three engaged in an intense battle for the lead. So after the first passage on the start/finish line, each of them had already taken control of the race. However, it is Martin who leads the way after two laps, ahead of Bagnaia and Marquez. Behind, Marco Bezzecchi remains in contact with the first three.

  • Two duos form, and Bezzecchi and Marquez fight for third place, while Martin and Bagnaia compete for the lead of the event.
  • Shortly before halfway, Bagnaia began to put pressure on Martin who was breaking down. The Spaniard locks the front wheel and makes a mistake, ending his race in the gravel trap. If number 1 is in the lead, his opponents are not far away. Bezzecchi put together good times and was only eight tenths behind the leader after twelve laps.

  • However, it is the poleman of the weekend who begins the second half of the event in the best possible way. The No. 93 gets rid of Bezzecchi and gets back on the leader, but Bagnaia also increases the pace.
  • Eight laps from the checkered flag, the two men are alone in the lead and are separated by six tenths. At the same time, Franco Morbidelli attacked Jack Miller for tenth place and caught him, causing their race to end prematurely.

  • Three loops later, Marquez returned to contact with Bagnaia and made a first attack. The factory Ducati rider did not give in and responded by taking the inside. The two men touch each other, but maintain control of their motorcycle. At the end of this more than muscular exchange Bagnaia retained the lead. In the next round Marquez tries again, but fails again.

  • After these two warnings, the leader increased the pace and broke the lap record. Marquez gave everything on the last lap to grab a few tenths, but was too far away to attack the Italian.
  • Bagnaia completed the last lap in the lead and scored an important victory for the championship, coming back to 17 points behind Jorge Martin. Marquez finishes the race in second place, while Marco Bezzecchi is back on the podium!
  • On the podium in Sprint, after the penalty received by fabio quartararo, Dani Pedrosa compromises his race by falling.
  • Johann Zarco paid the price for an error by Aleix Espargaro. The Spaniard tried too bold a move and sent both men to the mat. Fabio Quartararo ends the weekend with the point of fifteenth place.
