Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini had the opportunity to ride with a first version of the Desmosedici GP24 near Valencia, during the end of season Tests on the Ricardo Tormo circuit.
A final ride before the winter break which delighted the two factory Ducati riders, who both relayed good sensations on the handlebars of their future machine.
“It looks like the bike I rode at Gresini, but with a much more powerful engine, underlines n°23 in comments relayed by La Gazzetta dello Sport. Power wise we can't complain! As for the chassis, in my opinion there is work to be done, but we don't have the final bike yet and something new will surely come to Malaysia, this will also be the case in terms of aerodynamics. »
His teammate, for his part, spoke of similar attributes when speaking to the media in Spain.
« The engineers managed to bring a new engine that already works like the previous one, and that is an advantage, commented for his part the double world champion of MotoGP. In addition, in certain areas such as corner entry, I already felt better. There have been no big changes to the new bike and the fact that in some areas it is on par with the old one is positive.
However, in others it is even better, so I am very happy, continues number 1. Valencia is not the best circuit to do certain tests. The GP22 allowed a lot of speed in the corners and helped with turning, while the GP23 had better traction and braking, but lost a little on entry. I think on the GP24 the weight distribution is more similar to the 2022 bike.”
The rest of the evolutions of the Ducati will be brought to Sepang, during the pre-season tests of the 2024 season. Only the factory riders and the Pramac satellite team (Jorge Martín and Franco Morbidelli) will be equipped with them. , VR46 and Gresini will use the GP23.
