Fe – Di Grassi wins at Long Beach

Lucas di Grassi (Abt Audi Sport) scored his second victory of the season by winning the Long Beach ePrix (California) ahead of Stéphane Sarrazin (Venturi FE) and Daniel Abt (Abt Audi Sport). The Brazilian regains the lead of the Championship by one point against Sébastien Buemi (Renault e.dams) who only took 16th place.

If the Abt Audi Sport driver quickly took the advantage over Sam Bird (DS Virgin Racing), who started on pole following the disqualification of Antonio Félix da Costa (Team Aguri), its Swiss rival clashed with Robin Frijns (Andretti FE). Both drivers had to return to the pits, their cars being too damaged, and finished deep in the standings.

Nick Heidfeld (Mahindra Racing) took advantage of the racing events to take fourth place ahead of his teammate Bruno Senna. Sam Bird only finished sixth after making a mistake by missing braking. The Briton ranks ahead of Dragon Racing drivers Jérôme d’Ambrosio and Loïc duval.

Simona de Silvestro (Andretti FE) and Mike conway (Venturi FE) complete the top ten ahead of Nicolas Cheers (Renault e.dams) which was at the forefront before suffering a drive-through. Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Virgin Racing) ranks 13th behind Oliver Turvey (Nextev TCR).

After winning last year, Nelson Piquet Jr (Nextev TCR) was less successful since he retired in an accident after climbing too high on a curb.
