Fe – DS Virgin dreams of shining at home

DS Virgin Racing will be keen to achieve a good result this April 23 in Paris where the team will play at home. The French team will look to get off to a good start after a disappointing result in Long Beach (California) where Sam Bird was only able to finish sixth after starting from pole while Jean-Éric Vergne finished outside the points.

“The championship is reaching a critical phase. It is now up to us to lead the team to the podiums. After my pole position at Long Beach, I am even more confident that DS has significantly improved our engineering capabilities. Paris will be a narrow track where overtaking will be difficult, but I am aiming for a good result”, explained Sam Bird who occupies third place in the Championship.

His French teammate, who could be replaced next season by José Maria Lopez, as we reveal to you in AUTO issue 2059hebdo, will have to stand out in his national event. “My goal is the podium. It's ambitious, but the whole team has worked so hard to get us to where we are, that I think now is the time to reward them.", commented the former pilot Toro Rosso.

“Energy management during the race will remain the key to a good result”, underlined Xavier Mestelan Pinon, director of DS Performance. “With a recent victory in Argentina and good qualifying results in the United States, we know that our car can allow our drivers to fight at the front. And it is obviously an added excitement for the entire DS team to showcase our know-how and our technology in the heart of Paris, the hometown of the Brand. »
