24 Hours of Le Mans: 62 cars on the test day

Two weeks before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, on June 3 exactly, the test day will be held on the Sarthe track. This day is open to all competitors with an LMP1, an LMP2, a GTE or even an FLM or even a car potentially eligible for the 56th stand reserved for a vehicle equipped with a so-called innovative technology.

55 of the 56 cars which will show up at the start ten days later will be present. The only thing missing will be Porsche 997 GT3 RSR Prospeed Competition entered in GTE Am. But the Belgian team, like the car, knows the place perfectly. On the other hand, this means that for the race it will be necessary to call on drivers who have already taken part in the Le Mans classic or drivers who have completed at least 10 laps of the circuit, this June 3, in another car.

Main notorious fact, the Sébastien Loeb Racing, which recently shone for its debut in Endurance at Castellet, will be there. The boss will also take the wheel himself, having not driven on this track since he took the second step of the podium in 2006, with Pescarolo Sport. Level 5 Motorsports will make the trip with its two HPD ARX 03b-Hondas, even if only one of them is entered. We will also find three Oreca 09 FLMs. Finally, the DeltaWing, which will take its place in the 56th stand, will be there...just like the Green GT, which had also made a request to occupy this famous box. The Porsche Imsa Performance Matmut and Lola-Lotus n°32, both reservists, will also be present.

Certainly, the performances of these two cars will be one of the attractions of this day. But the public will also closely follow the first time confrontation between Audi and Toyota.
