The announcement surprised more than one. Last June, a few days before the Centenary of 24 Hours of Le Mans, the FIA ​​and the ACO jointly revealed the 2024 calendar for the World ChampionshipEndurance. And surprise: ciao Monza, buongiorno Imola ! This season, the Enzo and Dino circuit Ferrari replaces the Temple of Speed ​​and hosts the 6 Hours of Imola (Italy) this weekend. A first ? Not really. In 2011, this same event was organized as part of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, ancestor of the WEC. A race then won by Peugeot , with the duo Sébastien Bourdais – Anthony Davidson at the wheel of the 908 diesel.
