Porsches at the forefront in EL3 in Bahrain

Porsche seems to want to leave the scene of WEC with the manner. The 919 Hybrids were the fastest in the last test session even if the reference time remains held by the Toyota No. 8 in the second session. Timo Bernhard was the fastest in FP3 with a time of 1'42''438 in the No. 2, which already won the title before the final, two seconds behind the best performance of the weekend. The n°1 led by Neel Jani followed by more than six tenths while the TS050 Hybrid finished more than a second behind, the n°8 entrusted to Anthony Davidson preceding the n°7 of Mike conway.

The Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca 07s finished at the forefront of the LMP2 category. Ho-Pin Tung was responsible for setting the best time in the category with a lap completed in 1'48''879, ahead of the sister car driven by Tristan Gommendy by half a second. Loïc duval followed a few hundredths behind in the G-Drive Racing. The Vaillante Rebellion n°31 at the head of the category before the final finished almost two seconds behind the reference in seventh position with a best time from Nicolas Cheers which preceded theAlpine A470 of Nicolas lapierre.

In GTE Pro, it was James Calado who was responsible for establishing the benchmark with a time of 1’57”972 signed on the Ferrari No. 51. Andy Priaulx placed his #67 Ford GT between the two F488s, Davide Rigon having set the third time in the #71.

Matt Griffin set the GTE Am benchmark with a lap time of 2:00 in the No. 661 Clearwater Racing Ferrari. The session was interrupted following a fire in the No. 61 Gulf Racing Porsche 911 RSR of Wainwright-Barker-Foster.

Qualifying for the 6 Hours of Bahrain will be contested from 15 p.m. French time.
