EL2: mixed tests for Porsche

The results of Porsche are mixed at the end of the first day of testing for the 6 Hours of the Nürburgring (Germany). If the Porsche n°1 was the fastest of the day of testing with a time of 1'40''997 achieved by Mark Webber before the arrival of the rain, the sister car n°2 was damaged following an exit from the track by Romain Dumas trapped due to a broken front left brake disc.

The Audi R18s are on pace as the #7 of Marcel Fässler finished 14 thousandths off the benchmark, while the #8 of Lucas di Grassi followed a tenth behind. THE Toyota are still behind with the No. 050 TS6 Hybrid of Stéphane Sarrazin eight tenths behind and the No. 5 of Kazuki Nakajima at 1”3. Mathéo Tuscher placed the first privateer LMP1, the No. 13 Rebellion R-One, almost six seconds behind.

René Rast was responsible for setting the best time in LMP2, the No. 05 Oreca 26 of G-Drive Racing finishing again in first position with a time of 1'48''965 where he was ahead by more than a second the Strakka Racing Gibson 015S driven by Lewis Williamson and the No. 05 Oreca 45 from Manor driven by Roberto Merhi. Stéphane Richelmi placed theAlpine A460 No. 36 in fourth place in the category.

In GTE Pro, it was Richie Stanaway who was the fastest with a time of 1'56''908 achieved at the wheel of theAston Martin Vantage V8 n°97. Both Ferrari 488 of AF Corse followed a few hundredths behind with the n°51 of Gianmaria Bruni and the n°71 of Sam Bird. Olivier Pla set the fifth fastest time in the GTE Pro in the #66 Ford GT which finished behind the #95 Vantage of Nicki Thiim.

Emmanuel Collard signed the best lap in the GTE Am with a time of 1:59 in the #200 AF Corse F458, which was a tenth ahead of the Larbre Competition Corvette C83 entrusted to Paolo Ruberti.

The final practice session will be held this Saturday July 23 from 9:15 a.m. Qualifying will follow from 14:15 p.m.
