Discreet for its debut in the Hypercar category in Qatar (13th), Lamborghini nevertheless achieved the most important thing: reaching the checkered flag without encountering any major pitfalls. What Mirko Bortolotti is happy about before the 6 Hours of Imola this Sunday.

“It is by moving forward step by step every day that we learn, philosophers the teammate of Edoardo Mortara and Daniil Kvyat. Each outing, each lap makes us progress. In Qatar, the main objective was to finish, to have a clean race. That's what we did. I also think about the championship IMSA, where the car finished the 12 Hours of Sebring.

It's really promising. That was the first step for us, making sure the car is reliable. Obviously we have to prove it in every race and not just look at the first two and take it for granted.

It is obvious that we must continue to work and make sure that all the systems work all the time necessary and that it is reliable. This was the first step for us. Obviously, step by step, the objective is to be competitive, to fight at the head of the pack with the best. We are now working step by step on performance in order to obtain what we need.

The goal is to continue like this. If we can, obviously we're there to get a good result. This is our goal every time we enter a race, but we have to stay realistic and take things step by step. »

The LMDh from Sant'Agata Bolognese (Italy) showed promising pace during Free Practice 1 with the fourth fastest time before falling considerably in the hierarchy during the second driving session (15th).

Meet at 11:10 a.m. for the third practice session for the 6 Hours of Imola, the last before qualifying.
