Kubica – Ferrari, as obvious? The Pole will finally don the red suit decorated with the Prancing Horse in 2024: made official aboard the third Ferrari 499P entered next season, the ex-driver of F1 will finally take revenge on his career. Twelve years ago, a pre-contract signed with the stable Maranello in F1 promised him a seat within the Scuderia in 2012, before a terrible accident in rally deprives him of this opportunity.

In 2024, Robert Kubica will represent the Italian firm at the highest level of the WEC with the #83 Ferrari operated by AF Corse, a newcomer to the Hypercar grid. The reigning champion of the LM P2 category has already been able to try his hand aboard the 499P during private tests in Imola (Italy).

Who to accompany Kubica?

A necessarily strong moment in the career of the Pole who, after having successfully returned to motorsport, returned to his best level in Endurance. “The 499P is completely different from the LM P2 prototypes that I have been used to driving recently. The first test on the track was useful to understand the cockpit and left me with a positive first feeling, declared Robert Kubica. There is obviously a lot of work to be done. I will now have the chance to pilot a prototype of the Prancing Horse: it's a great thrill – unique, I would say. I am proud to have joined the AF Corse team and to be behind the wheel of a Ferrari. »

Robert Kubica's two teammates aboard the No. 83 Ferrari have not yet been announced. After the Rookie Test organized in Bahrain at the beginning of November, Robert Shwartzman and Lilou Wadoux are potential candidates to take a place in the third 499P. Yifei Ye, who will not be with Jota in 2024, is also mentioned.
