WRT confirms Gelael, Frijns and Habsburg on number 31

WRT is complete for the 2023 season WEC. After announcing the returns of Louis Delétraz and Robert Kubica to the No. 41, the Belgian team has confirmed the crew of the sister car. In No. 31, we will find a trio composed of Sean Gelael, Robin Frijns and Ferdinand Habsburg. A trio which has everything to play leading roles and reconquer the title lost against Jota in 2022 and three regulars from the team from across Quiévrain. The Dutchman and the Austrian find themselves in the same car after winning the championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2021, it was already in WRT #31.

« We are very happy to announce our other line-up for the 2023 FIA WEC, which contains no surprises, as you can see, declares Vincent Vosse, WRT Team Principal. Robin, Sean and Ferdi were already part of the WRT family, and for quite a long time in the case of Robin, who first drove for us in 2015, and they have all contributed to the success of our LM P2 program. Together with Rui, Louis and Robert, they make up a very strong set of drivers, which is absolutely essential in such a competitive environment. We have high goals and we can't wait to be on track for the first round (March 17 in Sebring. Editor’s note). »

« I'm happy to be back in the WEC to drive with WRT, the last two seasons have been quite successful. Even though last year we were among the fastest, we had some problems, notably at Le Mans, which hurt us a lot in the championship, even if we won three other races! I'm sharing the car with Sean again, and my other good friend Ferdinand, who I shared the car with two years ago when we won the championship and Le Mans. So everything looks very promising to have another successful season! »
