The GTPs were invited to a final Free Practice session this Friday lasting 20 minutes. In the early night, only six cars decided to take to the track. The Acuras, keen to save on equipment, remained in the pits, as did the No. 31 Cadillac V-LMDh of Action Express Racing.
The fastest of the remaining six cars was Renger van der Zande in the No. 01 Cadillac V-LMDh. The Dutchman was 0.130 seconds ahead of Alex Lynn on the second prototype from Detroit (Michigan) operated by Chip Ganassi Racing. Connor De Phillippi placed the No. 8 BMW M Hybrid V25 third, 0.361 seconds behind, just ahead of Mathieu Jaminet. The Frenchman was the only one to remain on track until the end of the allotted time in a session which took more than one warm-up before the start of hostilities.
Now it's time to race. The start of the 61st edition of the 24 Hours of Daytona will be given this Saturday at 19:40 p.m. (French time).
