Grand-Am – Sarrazin continues the adventure at 8Star

For his debut in the world championshipEndurance last year, Enzo Potolicchio enlisted the services of Stéphane Sarrazin, who had just paid the price for the end of the Endurance program of Peugeot Sport. The Venezuelan having learned a lot alongside the Frenchman, he decided to trust him again this year, but for the Grand-Am this time. So the official driver Toyota will contest almost the entire championship in the Corvette DP of 8Star Motorsports, Potolicchio's new team. He will only be absent during the Mid-Ohio round, scheduled for June 15, less than a week before the departure of the 24 Hours of Le Mans…and one week after the test day.

After suffering from a gearbox problem at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the Florida team is determined to return to the podiums this weekend during the second round, on the Circuit of the Americas, in Austin . “We learned from the mistakes made at Daytona, and hired new people, underlines Potolicchio. This route (Austin. Editor’s note) will be interesting for us. We will benefit from the downforce and aerodynamics of the Corvette DP. All Corvettes should be comfortable there. But we must remain realistic. Finishing in the top 5 and leaving with a few points will be our goal. »

Stéphane Sarrazin, for his part, will be able to gather valuable information on this circuit to which he will return on September 22 with Toyota, for the American round of the World Endurance Championship.
