IMSA – Wayne Taylor Racing dominates testing at Sebring

Jordan Taylor was the fastest at the end of the Sebring (Florida) tests held three weeks before the 12-hour race. The Wayne Taylor resident set the benchmark time in 1'49''600 at the wheel of the Cadillac DPi-VR that won the 24 Hours of Daytona last January.

Filipe Albuquerque came closest, falling just half a tenth behind in the No. 5 Mustang Sampling Racing car. Dane Cameron completed the top three Cadillacs 87 thousandths behind the benchmark with the No. 31 from Whelen Engineering Racing.

The LMP2s completed the top five as Stephen Simpson lifted the JDC Miller Motorsports Oreca 07 to 4th place ahead of the PR2/Mathiasen Motorsports Ligier JS P1 driven by Olivier Pla. On the other hand, the Mazda RT24-Ps were further behind, being among the lowest ranked in the Prototype category.

Corvette Racing snatched the best GTLM time with Jan Magnussen author of a time of 1'58''525 on the C7R n°3 on Friday morning, ahead of the Porsche 911 RSR by Dirk Werner n°912. Juan Pablo Montoya took advantage of the trials to test the Ferrari 488 GTE of the Risi Competizione, ranking almost 3s behind the category benchmark.

In the GTD category, it was Core Autosports which made the difference with the #911 3 GT54 R and Colin Braun who completed a lap of the Florida circuit in 2'02''476.
