Ricky Taylor once again put the Cadillac DPi-VR on the pole of the IMSA field at Long Beach.

IMSA – Wayne Taylor Racing on pole at Long Beach

Wayne Taylor Racing will be able to aim for a 3rd consecutive victory in IMSA after winning the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring (Florida). Ricky Taylor took pole at the Long Beach GP (California) by setting a time of 1'13''549 at the wheel of the Cadillac DPi.VR.

Christian Fittipaldi came closest, putting Action Express Racing's Cadillac DPi.VR 2 tenths back on the front row. Tristan Nunez followed by more than half a second behind the wheel of the No. 55 Mazda DPi which preceded the JDC Miller Motorsports Oreca 07 driven by Misha Goikhberg and the Cadillac DPi. VisitFlorida Racing's Riley Mk30 is withdrawn from the Long Beach Grand Prix following Renger van der Zande's off-track during testing.

Corvette on GTLM pole

In GTLM, it was Corvette which set the benchmark with a time of 1'16''909 achieved by Jan Magnussen on the C7R n°3. The Dane was almost a tenth ahead of Richard Westbrook's No. 66 Ford GT. There Ferrari n°62 of the Risi Competizione led by Toni Vilander and the Porsche 911 RSR No. 912 by Laurens Vanthoor completes the second row in the category.

Bryan Sellers was responsible for setting the best GTD time with a lap completed in 1'19''243 in the No. 3 Lamborghini Huracan GT48 at Paul Miller Racing.
